Play Style
How this build is meant to approach fights, objectives, and battlefield movement.
This version of Anti-Paladin takes a slightly different Approach to Corruptor. Instead of using your abilities Defensively, you use them Offensively. Play aggressive, but never attack from the front. Always push an enemy team from the side, or flank them if you can get away with it. You bring value to your team by being an aggressive thorn in the enemy team's side that they can't ignore. Shadow Step is your ability that forces people to focus on you. People will try and flank you, but you are taking those people out of the fight. Terror is used to pick and choose your fights. If you want to run into a 1v3, and your opponents are a Monk, a Scout, and a Wizard, you can use both of your Terrors to remove the Scout and the Wizard from the fight so that you can duel the Monk. Poison is best used on cooldown, and you use your Steal Life to get it back. The less times you have to swing at somebody, the better. Brutal Strike should be used as a second method to Curse people. You can also use it to shut down Casters while you're rushing them. A Battlemage's Ambulant is useless if you can Suppress them before their spell finishes. Your goal should be to stay alive for as much of the battlegame as possible.
Priority
What you should focus on first when playing this build in a Battlegame.
When playing this build, your priorities should be focused on collapsing Weak points in the enemy's line. Don't walk into a 1v5. Instead, push the Archer who's alone on the flank. Push the Assassin who's holding a point by themselves. Use your defensive potential as a "get-out-of-jail-free-card" so that you're less likely to be punished when you are aggressing into the backline. You should be focused on killing and keeping yourself alive as often as possible. This is a really risky playstyle, so stay mobile.
Synergy
Which classes, teammates, or abilities enhance this build’s effectiveness.
A pocket Bard and an Imbue Shield will go a long way for you here. Alternatively, if you want, you can put Void-Touched aside and get both Imbue Shield and Imbue Weapon. Bards, Healers, and Druids are your friend here. Seek them out and use their resources to keep yourself in the fight.
Enemies
The classes or tactics that most threaten this build during Battlegames.
The biggest threat to this playstyle is Archers, Assassins, and anybody with a Dispel. If you get caught alone in the Backline with no Void-Touched, or Imbue Shield, you're in a bad place. Archers' specialty arrows are not blocked by Void-Touched because they are (ex). Assassins can get behind you and drill through your armor. Being in a team's backline means that an Assassin can absolutely chew through you. Be aware of your surroundings, and continue to be hyper mobile so that nobody can catch you.
Recommended Gear
The weapons, shields, and equipment that best support this build’s playstyle.
- Short Sword (And a Spare, if you can manage it) - Any Shield (Whatever shield you are the most comfortable fighting with) - 4 pts. Armor (Or whatever armor is quietest. You want to balance your armor with not being super loud)
